Nabi & Rasool (Alaihis Salat-o- Salaam)

Image
A Nabi is that blessed servant whom Almighty Allah sent to the people with His laws for guidance. All the Ambiya (plural of Nabi) were human and male. Jinns and women cannot be considered as Ambiya. The revelation (Wahi) from Almighty Allah is revealed upon a Nabi sometimes directly or through an Angel. Even the dream of a Nabi is considered as a revelation. Ambiya are free of all minor or major sins. They are Ma'soom (do not and will not sin). With the exception of Ambiya and of Angels, no other creation is Ma'soom. The Ambiya are always the most excellent and exalted in everything they do. Almighty Allah blesses His chosen Ambiya with the Knowledge of unseen. To respect, love, honour and to be obedient to the Ambiya is obligatory (Fardh) upon every Muslim. The love of a Nabi is precise faith. In other words, if any person has any bad thoughts about a Nabi, then he cannot be a Muslim. The slightest disrespect to any Nabi is Kufr (will remove one from the folds of Islam). ...

To Read Durood Before and After Azaan

Image
Some people say that it is Bidah (innovation) to read the Durood Shareef before and after the Azaan. The Ahle Sunnah Wal Jama'at believes that it is permissible to recite the Durood Shareef before and after the Azaan. This is a current practice in many of the Arab countries. The following Quranic verse commands us to send Durood and Salaam upon the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) and no specified time has been set aside for this. Allah Ta'ala says: "O ye who Believe! Send Durood and Salaams upon him in abundance." (Part 22, Ruku 4) The Holy Prophet Muhammad (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said that when we hear the voice of the Mu'azzin, we should repeat whatever he has said and then send Durood Shareef upon him. He said that the person who sends one Durood upon him, Allah Ta'ala will send ten mercies upon that person. (Sahih Muslim, Al-Qaulul Badi) In this Hadith Shareef, proof is found here that the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi w...

Visiting the Graveyard

Image
Death has to come and it is a fact that cannot be refuted. It is Fardh-e-Kifaayah to bury the deceased. The place where a person is buried is called the "Qabar" or grave and the place of burial for many people is called "Qabristaan" or graveyard. A graveyard always reminds one of death and of meeting with the Creator. After death, every person has to be buried accordingly. This is the final level on earth and the first step towards the Hereafter. To visit the graveyard is the Sunnah of Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). When visiting the graveyard, one should first make Salaam and then make Du'a for the deceased. In this era it is totally forbidden for women to visit the graves or Mazaars. She is only allowed to visit the Roza Mubarak of Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) because it is close to Waajib and a means of great blessing. It is also necessary to respect the graveyard. To sit, sleep or lean against the grave is unethical. It is not...

Visiting the Sick

Image
Even sickness for a Muslim is a blessing of Allah. The reason for this is that if a pious person falls ill, then his status is elevated and if a sinner falls ill then his sins are forgiven. To visit a sick person is known as "Iyaadat." This is to show human kindness and it is a means of earning Sawaab. Most of all it is the Sunnah of the Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). hen a person visits a fellow Muslim who is ill, then he gains the Mercy of Almighty Allah and the gift of Jannat. The Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) has stated: "If a Muslim visits his fellow Muslim brother who is ill in the morning, then 70 000 Angels pray for that person until the night and if he visits at night then they pray for him till the morning, and due to his Iyaadat, he gains a garden in Paradise. " In another Hadith, it has been narrated that if a person makes fresh Wudhu and intends to visit an ill person only for Sawaab, then he is kept away from Hell as far as the ...

The relationship between the husband and wife

Image
The relationship between the husband and wife The relationship between the husband and wife is a very tender, loving and pure relationship. They are in reality the "garb" of one another. Thus, it is the duty of each to be protective over the life, property and modesty of one another. It is necessary for them to realise and understand their mutual duties as a couple. They are two bodies joined by the soul. The Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) has stated that if a husband was pleased and content with his wife when she passed away, then she will enter Paradise. The explanation of one Hadith is that if a husband passes the night displeased with his wife, she invokes upon herself the Curse of Allah and the Angels. In another hadith, the Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said, "If I had commanded prostration for any other than Allah, I would have commanded the wife to make Sajdah to the husband." However, since Sajdah is none but for Allah, a woman cann...

The Companions of the Prophet and his Family

Image
A Sahabi (Companion) is that Muslim who has assisted in the holy court of the Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) - in the Holy Prophet's (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) presence - and has passed away from this world with faith. All Sahabis are of praise and are pious. They are also sincere in their Islamic judgement and in their Islamic actions. When there is talk of a Sahabi, it is compulsory that it be with praise. To have bad beliefs for any of the Sahabis is mis-guidance and belonging to the wrong sect. To speak ill of the dignity of Hazrat Amir Mua'awiya, Hazrat Amr Bin Aas, Hazrat Wahshi (radi Allahu anhum), etc. is to curse them and this is a Shi'ite belief. According to Islamic Jurists, to insult Hazrat Shaikhain (Hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Farouk-e-Azam radi Allahu anhum) or to reject their position as Caliphs is infidelity. Regardless of how high a rank a Wali is, they would never reach the grade of a Sahabi. The battle between Hazrat Ali ...
